Aloe vera is very easy to maintain, they are not prone to pests and does not need to be watered regularly. It needs soil with good drainage, so make sure your pot has plenty of bottom holes. Maintain your plant indoors unless you life in hardiness zone 10 or 11.
Aloe vera is a succulent so make sure you put it in a sunny window, it grows best with 6-8 hours of full sun. Water deeply but infrequently, letting the soil fully dry between watering.
When ready to use your Aloe, cut the largest leaves from the outer section of the plant. Cut them close to the stem, wash and dry then trim the prickly edges with a knife. Separate the interior gel from the outside of the lead, the interior gel is the part of the aloe that you will use. Enjoy!

Aloe vera is received with roots exposed (ships without pot shown in picture), be ready to plant in cactus potting soil and a pot with lots of bottom holes.
